The Columbus Blue Jackets continued to turn over their roster on Wednesday, signing unrestricted free agent forward Kristian Huselius. Sources tell TSN it's a four-year deal worth $4.75 million per year. The move came just hours after the Blue Jackets shipped enigmatic forward Nikolai Zherdev to the New York Rangers in a four player swap.

Huselius, 29, is coming off a productive couple of season in Calgary in which he scored 59 goals in 162 games with the Flames. He was also a +31 over the last two seasons, displaying a commitment to the defensive zone.

Huselius was a second round pick by the Florida Panthers back in 1997. In 473 NHL games, he has scored 132 goals and 177 assists for 309 points.

I wish you Ranger fans the best with Zherdev. Maybe a change of scenery will be good for him.

Huselius is a good player, I know the Flames coach hates him, but hes still a good top six foward so this was a good move for Columbus.

Haha Iginla just lost about 20 goals for this upcoming season. If it wasn't for Huselius making all thoes passes Iginla would of been out of a job...

I personally like the Avery move: we are bringing in a great goal scorer, who is a young (23), russian (do such names as Ovechkin, Malkin, Kovalchuk, Datchuk ring a bell), big (6'2, 210) stud. Avery was undersized, which is why, no matter how big his heart is could bring points or play against huge behemot defenders.

good pick up by the jackets. but i would have still liked to have kept Zherdev... it is a contract year for him so look for him to score 40+ goals and 80+ pts. i really hope vorachek and Filatov are ready to go this year.
