Dubinsky put the Rangers ahead with a rebound on a power play at 7:15 of the second period.

Richards made it 1-1 with a slap shot from the right circle at 10:53 of the period, and Gagne scored on a one-timer at 18:28 to put the Flyers ahead.

Dawes’ slap shot tied the game at 1:43 of the third.

Martin Biron stopped 35 shots for the Flyers. New York’s Henrik Lundqvist had 26 saves.

A total of 94 minutes in penalties were assessed, including 46 in the first period when New York’s Chris Drury fought Richards and was given a major and a misconduct. The Rangers were given 54 minutes in penalties overall.

Philadelphia’s Jason Smith squared off with Colton Orr and Brendan Shanahan, and New York’s Jason Strudwick fought Riley Cote in other bouts.

The Flyers assigned forward Steve Downie to the club’s AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. Downie was suspended Friday by the NHL for 20 games for hitting Ottawa center Dean McAmmond in the head with a flying check during a road game on Tuesday that left McAmmond with a concussion.
