BOSTON (AP)—Martin Biron gave Miroslav Satan and the rest of the Buffalo Sabres a chance to end their road winless streak.

Satan scored two late goals, and Biron made 23 saves to help Buffalo snap a six-game road winless streak with a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night,

“They had a very good start to third and held us without a shot for 13 minutes,” Satan said. “But Biron kept us in the game and we need to focus on a game like tonight so we can be more successful on the road.”

Buffalo ended a three-game losing streak and won for only the second time in its last six games. The Sabres also ended Boston’s six-game home unbeaten streak.

“This game is a sign that we feel more confident,” Biron said. “We didn’t quit and after they tied it. We weren’t going to let the game get away from us.”

Satan gave Buffalo a 2-1 lead with 6:20 left, beating goalie Andrew Raycroft with a wrister from the slot on the Sabres’ first shot on goal in the period. Satan added an empty-net goal, his 17th goal of the season, with 1:10 to go to make it 3-1.

Mike Knuble completed the scoring, beating Biron with 5.5 seconds left. Knuble has 14 goals this season.

“They did the same thing to us that we did to them in Buffalo the other night,” Knuble said. “We had a pretty emotional series with the Rangers and I wouldn’t say we had a letdown, but we weren’t playing our best.”

The Bruins beat Buffalo 1-0 last Thursday and swept a home-and-home series with the Rangers their previous two games.

Boston’s Glen Murray tied it at 1 at the 8:11 mark of the third with a soft shot through goalie Biron’s pads.

“We were flat the whole game,” Murray said. “They are a desperate team, no question. A team that needs points badly.”

Rory Fitzpatrick gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead when his slap shot from the blue line beat Raycroft at 11:35 of the first period.

Raycroft kept the Bruins in the game when he foiled a pair of great opportunities for Buffalo through the first two periods. He robbed Milan Bartovic on a breakaway midway through the first period, and made a pad save onDerek Roy in the second.
