Blackhawks 5, Sabres 4

CHICAGO (AP) - Steve Sullivan scored his third goal of the game with 14.9 seconds left to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 5-4 preseason win over the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday night.

After circling behind the net, Sullivan beat Buffalo goalie Mika Noronen with a high shot from the left side of the crease.

Kyle Calder and Ajay Baines also scored for Chicago (2-3-2). Sullivan’s linemate, rookie Tuomo Ruutu, and Brett McLean each had two assists.

Paul Gaustad, Chris Drury, Andy Delmore and Chris Taylor scored for the Sabres. Norman Milley and Rory Fitzpatrick each had two assists for Buffalo (1-2-0-1).

Chicago goalie Jocelyn Thibault stopped 21 of 25 shots and Noronen blocked 19 of 24.

Sullivan scored the only goal of the first period, converting a cross-ice pass during a Chicago power play at 5:32.

Gaustad tied it 3:38 into the second, but Calder scored 1:21 later to give Chicago a 2-1 lead.

Drury connected on a rebound after a faceoff and during a delayed penalty call at 10:04 to tie it at 2. Baines and Sullivan scored 2:32 apart to give Chicago a 4-2 lead. However a power-play goal by

Delmore scored a power-play goal and Taylor had a goal on a two-on-one breakaway to tie the score at 4 at the end of the second period.
