DETROIT (AP)—Curtis Joseph earned his 41st career shutout and Sergei Fedorov had a goal and an assist in Detroit’s 3-0 victory Monday night over the Nashville Predators that clinched the Red Wings’ third straight Central Division title.

Joseph stopped 27 shots for his fifth shutout of the season. Steve Yzerman and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for the Red Wings, who have 106 points.

Nashville has lost three straight.

Yzerman’s power-play goal gave Detroit a 1-0 lead with 7:56 left in the second period. He slammed a loose puck into an empty net during a goal-mouth scramble. It was Yzerman’s second goal since returning in late February from offseason knee surgery.

Fedorov’s goal, also on the power play, came with 6:49 left on a slap shot from the point. It was his 33rd goal of the season. Zetterberg added anempty-net goal with 1:13 remaining.

Detroit assistant coach Joe Kocur was suspended for two games by the NHL for throwing a chair onto the ice during an on-ice brawl in Saturday’s 6-2 win in St. Louis. The Red Wings were fined $5,000. Blues coach Joel Quenneville was fined $5,000 for his conduct and the team was fined $25,000 … Hall of Famer and Red Wings star Gordie Howe turned 75 on Monday. … Nashville DVladimir Orszagh didn’t play because of a bruised shoulder.
