The Edmonton Oilers are tuning up for the playoffs. The San Jose Sharks are getting ready to go home for the offseason.

The Oilers look to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games and move into a tie for seventh place in the Western Conference as they host the Sharks in the second-to-last regular season game for both teams.

Edmonton is two points behind Minnesota, which plays at Toronto on Thursday.

Unbeaten in their last six (4-0-2), and with just one loss in nine (6-0-2-1), the Oilers have not lost in regulation since March 13, a 5-2 defeat to the New York Islanders.

Edmonton is coming off two straight road ties—4-4 at Chicago on Sunday, and 5-5 at St. Louis on Monday. Ethan Moreau scored with 1:52 left in regulation against the Blues, getting Edmonton’s third goal of the third period for the tie.

“To get a point in this building without a full lineup, against a pretty hungry team, is big for us,” Moreau said after the Oilers rallied from two two-goal deficits in the final period.

It was the second big recovery in two days for the Oilers, who came back from a 4-1 deficit against the Blackhawks.

One year after winning the Pacific Division, the Sharks are assured of finishing with their worst record since 1996-97—the last season they missed the playoffs.

They extended their road winless streak to eight games (0-6-1-1) with a 2-2 tie at Calgary on Wednesday. Patrick Marleau and Mark Smith scored for San Jose, which has won just once in its last six overall (1-3-1-1).

The Sharks close the season at home against Phoenix on Sunday, while the Oilers host Calgary on Saturday in their finale.
