DENVER (TICKER) —The Colorado Avalanche look establish a franchise record by registering a point in 16 consecutive home games on Monday when they battle the San Jose Sharks.

Colorado has collected at least a point in 15 consecutive home games (12-0-2-1), matching a club record. The Quebec Nordiques were 13-0-2 at Le Colisee from March 1-May 3, 1995.

The Avalanche are two points ahead of St. Louis for fourth place and home-ice advantage in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

Colorado also is still alive in the Pacific Division race, trailing first-place Vancouver by four points. The Avalanche are trying to capture a record ninth straight division crown.

Riku Hahl and defenseman Greg de Vries each scored a career-high two goals as the Avalanche ran their home winning streak to four games with a 6-1 rout of the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

Avlanche center Peter Forsberg had two assists against the Coyotes and needs one point to reach 100 for the second time in his career. He had a career-best 116 points in 1995-96.

The Sharks have lost three of their last four games, including Saturday’s 4-3 defeat to Dallas. San Jose has endured a disastrous month, going 3-8-0-3.

Colorado has won the three meetings from San Jose by a combined 11-2.
