DALLAS (TICKER) —The Dallas Stars continue their push for the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs on Monday as they host the Buffalo Sabres.

Dallas, which won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and went the Finals again the following season, is one point ahead of Detroit and two in front of Vancouver for home-ice advantage throughout Western Conference finals.

The Stars have won three of their last four games and are coming off Saturday’s 4-3 victory at San Jose. Brenden Morrow scored a power-play goal with 2:02 remaining in the third to lift Dallas to the victory.

Scott Young, Jere Lehtinen and former Shark Ulf Dahlen also scored for the Stars. Young has tallied eight goals in his last seven games.

Already eliminated from playoff contention, the Sabres are riding a season-high four-game winning streak.

Mika Noronen made 38 saves and Miroslav Satan and Maxin Afinogenov scored during two-man advantages, lifting the Sabres to a 3-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

The Sabres, who are tied for 26th in the league with the man advantage, have scored at least one power-play goal in seven of eight games.

Curtis Brown scored with 12:22 left in the third period to snap a tie and lift the Sabres to a 5-3 victory over Buffalo on Febraury 28.
