DENVER (TICKER) —The Colorado Avalanche try to pick up a point in their 15th consecutive home game Saturday night when they host the Phoenix Coyotes.

Since a 4-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on January 16, Colorado is 11-0-2-1 at home. It is part of a 21-4-4-3 surge that has moved the Avalanche into their ninth consecutive playoff appearance.

Patrick Roy made 26 saves for his 66th career shutout and Dan Hinote, defenseman Rob Blake and Alex Tanguay scored to lead the Avalanche to a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

Roy, the all-time wins leader, needs one more shutout to tie Roy Worters for 10th on the all-time list.

The Avlanache are tied with the St. Louis Blues for fourth place in the Western Conference and trail the Vancouver Canucks by four points for the lead in the Northwest Division.

Phoenix has lost a season-high four straight games for the third time this season and will miss the playoffs for the second time since moving from Winnipeg in 1996.

Mike Johnson’s power-play goal was the lone tally for the Coyotes in Thursday’s 5-1 loss at Vancouver.

Colorado leads the season series, 1-0-2.
