NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (TICKER) —Pavol Demitra tries to extend his points streak to a career-high 10 games on Saturday when the St. Louis Blues finish a four-game road trip against the Nashville Predators at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
Demitra has tied the longest points streak of his career, collecting seven goals and eight assists in his last nine games. Demitra’s 30 goals are tied with Keith Tkachuk for the team lead.
However, Tkachuk will be sidelined at least three weeks after suffering a severely sprained right wrist in Thursday’s 4-4 tie against Vancouver.
Demitra and Eric Boguniecki each had a goal and as assist Thursday as the Blues moved to 5-1-1 in their last seven games.
St. Louis is just two points behind Colorado for fourth place in the Western Conference and is five points ahead of Anaheim and Minnesota, which are tied for sixth.
The Predators are winless in their last three games (0-2-1) following Friday’s 3-1 setback at Minnesota. Scott Walker had their lone goal as they remained six points behind Edmonton for the Western Conference’s final playoff berth.
St. Louis leads the season series, 2-1-1.
