UNIONDALE, NEW YORK (TICKER) —The New York Islanders hope to halt a three-game winless skid Saturday night as they host the Buffalo Sabres.

New York is 0-2-1 in its last three games and has blown at least one lead in each of those contests.

On Thursday, the Islanders had to rally for 3-3 tie with New Jersey after blowing a 2-0 lead. Brad Isbister and Dave Scatchard scored New York’s first two goals and Shawn Bates got the tying goal.

Rookie Rick DiPietro 30 saves, including one on Jamie Langenbrunner’s shorthanded breakaway with five seconds left in overtime. Garth Snow had made 11 straight starts, but gave up eight goals in his last two appearances.

The Islanders are 3-0-2 in their last five home games and 11-3-2 in their last 16 here. Of their final 19 games, only seven are on Long Island.

Buffalo is 4-2-1-1 in its last eight contests following a club-record eight-game losing streak.

On Friday, Curtis Brown’s 13th goal of the season snapped a third-period tie as the Sabres posted a 5-3 home over the Dallas Stars.

New York leads the season series 2-1. The Islanders are 3-3-1 vs. the Sabres since acquiring captain Michael Peca from Buffalo in June 2001.
