NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (TICKER) —The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim try to match their season-high five-game winning streak as they visit the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.

Anaheim has won seven of its last eight games and is trying to win five in a row for the first time since December 6-18.

Martin Gerber made 26 saves and rookie Alexei Smirnov and Steve Rucchin scored third-period goals to propel the Mighty Ducks to a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Friday.

The win moved Anaheim one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers for seventh place in the Western Conference. The Ducks also trail the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild by two points.

Nashville is 2-1 on a season-high six-game homestand and is 17-14-5-0 following a woeful 2-10-4-4 start.

The Predators have scored two goals or fewer in 32 games this season, but have just wins when scoring two goals or fewer.

One of those was Thursday’s 2-0 blanking over the New York Islanders. Andreas Johansson became the fastest player in Predators history to 20 goals as he needed just 51 games to eclipse Sergei Krivokrasov’s mark of 54 games in 1998-99.

The Ducks lead the season series 2-0-0.
