MONTREAL (TICKER) —The Edmonton Oilers try to sweep the Montreal Canadiens for the second straight season when they match up at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

The Oilers won two home meetings against the Canadiens last season, and posted a 5-4 triumph in overtime in Edmonton on January 4.

The Canadiens are 1-2-1 in their last four home games against the Oilers.

Edmonton has lost three of its last four contests, including a 2-0 defeat at Ottawa on Thursday.

The Oilers, who went 0-for-5 on the power play, had 24 shots saved by Patrick Lalime as they lost at Ottawa for the first time since 1992.

Edmonton is 1-1 on its five-game road trip.

The Canadiens are 2-0-0-1 since losing four straight in regulation. On Thursday, Montreal fell to 1-0-0-1 on its four-game homestand with a 2-1 overtime loss to Columbus.

Defenseman Andrei Markov scored a third-period goal and Jose Theodore made 24 saves in the defeat.

The Canadiens are 5-4-2-2 since coach Michel Therrien was fired and replaced by Claude Julien.
