Turco is 9-0-4 since December 29 and has the second-longest unbeaten streak in club history. With a win or tie on Saturday, he can match Don Beaupre, who won 14 straight starts during the 1985-86 season.
Turco made 22 saves in Wednesday’s 2-2 tie with the St. Louis Blues. But before he could run his unbeaten streak to 13, he stopped a one-timer by defenseman Al MacInnis with 17 seconds left in overtime.
Turco made a chest save on the blast and the Stars moved to 12-1-4 in their last 17 contests.
Phoenix comes into Saturday’s contest in 12th place in the Western Conference and 10 points behind the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for the eighth and final playoff berth in the West.
The Coyotes had won four of five heading into the All-Star break, but have suffered consecutive one-goal losses at Los Angeles and Anaheim.
The teams are meeting for the first time since Dallas acquired Claude Lemieux from Phoenix on January 16.
The Stars are 2-0-1 vs. the Coyotes this season.
