COLUMBUS, OHIO (TICKER) —The Columbus Blue Jackets try to bring a three-game unbeaten streak into the All-Star break when they host the Nashville Predators in a meeting between the bottom two teams in the Central Division on Thursday night.

Columbus had a 4-1 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday and followed with a 2-2 tie against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.

Lasse Pirjeta and Grant Marshall in a 17-second span of the second period as the Blue Jackets earned their first point in 11 all-time meetings with Avalanche. Pirjeta has four goals since returning from a concussion on January 11.

Center Espen Knutsen was activated from injured reserve before the game and had an assist on Pirjeta’s goal. Knutsen had 31 assists last season, but has just two in 12 games this season as he has been bothered by an abdominal injury.

Marc Denis made 34 saves against the Avalanche to move to 18-26-5.

Nashville had won consecutive games before Tuesday’s 2-1 loss at Boston. Andreas Johansson scored his team-leading 18th goal, but the Predators could manage nothing else against goaltender Jeff Hackett.

The Predators were 0-for-3 on the power play Tuesday, marking the fourth straight game in which they failed to convert on the man advantage.
