DALLAS (TICKER) —The Dallas Stars look to extend their unbeaten streak to 12 games on Wednesday night when they host the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets.

Dallas is 8-0-3-0 since its last loss on December 26 at Nashville. The Stars have been even better at home, winning four straight and going 5-0-1 in their last six games.

Goaltender Ron Tugnutt, a former Blue Jacket, is expected to get the start for Dallas in place of Marty Turco, who was suspended one game for a high-sticking incident in Monday’s 1-1 tie against Colorado in which he made 33 saves.

Mike Modano assisted on Jere Lehtinen’s power-play goal in the second period. Modano recorded his 593th assist for Dallas, matching Neal Broten’s franchise record.

Columbus snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over Chicago on Monday. The Blue Jackets scored three goals in the first period and never looked back as defenseman Jaroslav Spacek and Mike Sillinger each had a pair of assists.

Spacek is trying to extend his club record for defensemen with points in six straight games. He has a goal and five assists during that stretch.

The Blue Jackets are 6-14-3-1 on the road and suffered a 3-2 overtime loss here on November 17, blowing a two-goal lead. That was Columbus’ first point in five games at Dallas.
