Nov 8 C Doug Weight, the Islanders' captain, has played in only 11 of the Isles' first 17 games. He sustained an early-season groin injury, then had a recent encounter with swine flu before also sitting out Saturday's game against Atlanta with an upper-body injury that is expected to sideline him for at least one week.
