Jul 3 Naslund has agreed to a two-year deal for $8 million with the Rangers, according to TSN.ca.

Recommendation: Naslund, with just 55 points in 2007-08, is coming off his worst season since 1997-98 but the feeling is that he can still be an effective top-six forward with the right talent around him. Naslund, playing at the valuable left wing spot, may be worthy of attention in standard 12-team leagues again.

Jul 3 Naslund, the longtime Vancouver Canucks captain, agreed to terms Thursday with the New York Rangers on a two-year deal worth $8 million.

Advice: Naslund spent 12 seasons with the Canucks and had been captain since 2000. Naslund, who began his NHL career with Pittsburgh, was a five-time All-Star with the Canucks and was the runner-up for NHL MVP in 2003. He reached the 40-goal mark three times. He has 371 goals and 452 assists for 823 points in 1,035 games. Naslund's numbers have gone down in recent years from a career-best 48 goals and 104 points in 2002-03 to 25 goals and 55 points last season.
