Devin Cooley cool under pressure with 49 saves as Sharks top Kraken 3-1

Devin Cooley is trying not to get wrapped up in the success of his past two starts. Cooley made 49 saves in just his fourth career start, Kyle Burroughs and Fabian Zetterlund scored less than a minute apart in the second period, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Seattle Kraken 3-1 on Thursday night. The Sharks spoiled Seattle’s final home game of the season, taking advantage of two defensive breakdowns by the Kraken just 51 seconds apart and a terrific performance by Cooley.

Kraken's Jaden Schwartz, sorely missed this season when out injured, looks to finish strong

There were times back in November when Kraken winger Jaden Schwartz appeared headed for a season of 30 goals rather than 30 points. By Thanksgiving, Schwartz had already scored nine times before suffering an undisclosed lower-body injury that would cost him six weeks of his season. Throw in a subsequent upper-body injury in March and Schwartz, entering play Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings, had missed 20 of his team's 74 games. “Yeah, I want to continue to build,” said Schwartz, whose two assists in Monday's win over San Jose was just his first multi-point game since Jan. 9.

Seattle scores 3 goals in 3rd period to pull away for 4-2 win over Anaheim

Tye Kartye scored the go-ahead goal with 6:57 left in the third period and the Seattle Kraken rallied to beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 on Thursday night to sweep a two-game set. Jaden Schwartz, Andre Burakovsky and Matty Beniers all had power-play goals for the Kraken, who overcame a 2-1 deficit after allowing two short-handed goals early in the third period. Jared McCann had three assists and Philipp Grubauer made 21 saves.
