Forsberg (foot) will remain in Sweden to play for MoDo this season rather than coming back to North America to play in the NHL, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. Recommendation: If his foot improves between now and the 2010-11 season, Forsberg will reportedly consider a return to the NHL then. Perhaps we'll get a chance to see him representing Sweden during the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in a few months. |

An NHL general manager says Forsberg is going to stay in Sweden this season. Advice: Mike Gillis of the Vancouver Canucks was considering signing the former Colorado star, but said he learned Monday that Forsberg wanted to stay in his home country. Forsberg, who is playing for Modo of the Swedish Elite League after 12 NHL seasons spent mostly with the Avalanche, has dealt with nagging ankle and foot problems for several years. |
