Jurcina, a regular healthy scratch at the end of Ken Hitchcock's tenure as coach, played a team-high 21:51 on Saturday and scored an extremely fluky goal.
Recommendation: He was dumping the puck along the boards at the end of a shift, but it took a crazy bounce and rattled into the net off poor Patrick Lalime's skate, giving Jurcina his first goal of the season. He's not a scoring threat, but it seems clear new coach Claude Noel values his presence on the ice a lot more highly than Hitchcock did.

D Milan Jurcina snapped an 87-game streak without a goal, but it took a once-in-a-lifetime bounce. Jurcina rimmed the puck around the boards, but it hit a partition in the glass and rocketed toward Buffalo goaltender Patrick Lalime. The puck kicked off Lalime's left skate and into the net.
