G Dan Ellis, who was credited with an assist, played for the first time since Nov. 10. He turned back 24 shots for the win.
"Dan looked really solid," said coach Barry Trotz. "He didn't look rusty at all. I thought Ellis would be fine because he prepared really well."

Ellis will start against the Panthers on Saturday night, the team's official site reports.
Recommendation: Pekka Rinne has run away with the No. 1 job after a shaky couple of starts to open the season, so Ellis is in goal for the first time since Nov. 10. Scott Clemmensen will get the nod for the Panthers at the other end.
