Nov 6 Biron is expected to start in goal Friday, according to Islanders Point Blank.

Recommendation: Dwayne Roloson is winless in six starts against New Jersey for his career, so the Isles will play the percentages and go with Biron. There are only six games on tap for Friday, so play Biron if you want to take a gamble. Just keep in mind the Devils have won six of their last seven games, so use him at your own risk.

Nov 6 G Martin Biron, who signed a one-year deal, came to the Islanders with the knowledge that he might not stick around through that contract's entirety. With two veteran netminders -- Biron and Dwayne Roloson -- splitting time through the Islanders' 5-6-5 start entering Saturday's game against Atlanta, one will likely be traded if and when rehabbing franchise goalie Rick DiPietro returns following multiple knee surgeries at some point after Thanksgiving."I'm happy to see Ricky do well. I'm hoping that he comes back and is 100 percent. That's what we all want," Biron told Newsday. "For me, we'll definitely see what happens when that situation arises. I'm not going to pay attention to that. It's still early. A lot of things happen from now until Christmas or even before that and after. My agents are going to monitor the situation and talk to (GM) Garth (Snow) and know what the situation is. Not to say it's none of my business. I'm going to want to know. But right now it's absolutely none of my business to keep track of all of that." Biron was burned by a shaky right-point shot by defenseman Cory Murphy and beaten for another goal on the power play by Brian Rolston early in the second period Friday in a 2-1 loss to the Devils. "I tried to steer it to the corner before I stopped it, but it got underneath my blade and snuck through," Biron said of Murphy's goal. "It was a bad goal at a bad time in the game. This was a game we could have won 1-0 and we gave them two opportunities and they took them." Yahoo! Sports

Nov 1 Biron earned his 200th NHL win and 26th career shutout as the New York Islanders routed the Buffalo Sabres 5-0 Saturday night to stretch their winning streak to three games.

Advice: Biron made 38 saves in his first victory with the Islanders since joining the club during the offseason. He was 0-3-2 in his first six outings with the team.
