Detroit Red Wings at Los Angeles Kings, March 13, 2012: Fan Preview

The Detroit Red Wings will spend the week in California but it will certainly not be a vacation. They play the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday followed by the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, and then the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Wins certainly will not come without a fight, especially for a Red Wings team that has struggled on the road this season.

Perhaps the biggest challenge of the California road trip will come on Tuesday against the Kings. Despite the fact Detroit has won all three prior meetings this season with the Kings, Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick is one of the league's best boasting a 2.00 GAA. Pair that with the fact Los Angeles will be skating on their home ice, and the situation becomes more ominous.

Thankfully the wounded Wings will start trickling back onto the lines as the regular season winds down. Picking up wins in these next few games will not only boost their confidence but also aid in ideal playoff positioning come next month.
