Canucks sign D Edler to extension
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker)—The Vancouver Canucks on Friday signed defenseman Alex Edler to a four-year contract extension.
Financial terms of the deal, which will keep Edler with the Canucks through the 2012-13 season, were not disclosed.
“Alex is a gifted puck-moving defenseman who sees the ice extremely well for such a young player,” Vancouver general manager Mike Gillis said. “He has made great strides in his career and we look forward to further growth and development in his game.”
The 22-year-old Edler had eight goals and 20 points over 75 games last season.
