Sharks sign free agent RW Grier, C Brown

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) - The San Jose Sharks added a pair of free agents Monday, signing right wing Mike Grier and center Curtis Brown.

Terms of both deals were not disclosed.

Grier, 31, spent last season with Buffalo, registering seven goals and 23 points in 81 games. He added three goals and five assists in the playoffs, helping the Sabres reach the Eastern Conference finals.

Also having played for Edmonton and Washington, Grier has collected 112 goals and 267 points in 693 career games over nine seasons.

Brown, 30, is returning to San Jose after playing last season in Chicago, where he recorded five goals and 15 points in 71 games. He played 12 games for the Sharks in 2003-04, collecting four points.

An 11-year veteran who spent his first nine-plus seasons with Buffalo, Brown has tallied 116 points and 271 points in 625 career games.
