Sabres agree to multi-year deal with D Tallinder
BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) - The Buffalo Sabres now have one less hearing to worry about.
The Sabres on Friday agreed to a multi-year contract with defenseman Henrik Tallinder, avoiding an arbitration hearing that was to take place Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tallinder was one of 10 players scheduled for arbitration with the Sabres, who had their first hearing Thursday with center Daniel Briere.
Appearing in all 82 games this past season, Tallinder recorded six goals and 15 assists. The 27-year-old improved his output in the postseason, registering two goals and six assists in 14 games as the Sabres advanced to the Eastern Conference finals.
Tallinder suffered a broken arm in Game Three against the Carolina Hurricanes and did not play thereafter.
A 1997 second-round pick of Buffalo, Tallinder has 10 goals and 44 points in 202 career games.
