Sabres C Mair awarded $675,000 in arbitration

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) - The Buffalo Sabres found out what it will cost them to retain the services of Adam Mair.

An arbitrator awarded Mair a one-year, $675,000 contract Sunday, meaning the Sabres can agree to the decision or allow the 27-year-old center to become an unrestricted free agent.

Mair, whose arbitration hearing was held Friday, was limited to 40 games last season due to a concussion. He collected two goals and five assists, adding 47 penalty minutes in limited action.

A 1997 fourth-round pick, Mair has registered 16 goals and 33 assists with 422 penalty minutes in 252 career games with Toronto, Los Angeles and Buffalo.
