Sabres sign RW Grier to qualifying offer

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) - The Buffalo Sabres announced Monday that right wing Mike Grier has accepted the team’s one-year qualifying offer worth nearly $1.4 million.

Grier, who was a restricted free agent, had one goal and eight assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-10 in 14 games with the Sabres after being acquired from Washington in March 2004. He had eight goals and 12 assists in 68 games with the Capitals.

The 30-year-old Grier recorded a pair of 20-goal seasons with the Edmonton Oilers in 1998-99 and 2000-01. He has 105 goals and 139 assists in 612 career games with Edmonton, Washington and Buffalo.
