Sergei Gonchar: Making Progress

Update: Gonchar (wrist) is hoping to be cleared for full contact in about a week, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Recommendation: Gonchar is still wearing the red, non-contact jersey during practice. X-rays taken on Wednesday show that the broken bone in his left wrist has healed. “The bone healed well,” he said. “We have to work on my muscles. I have to build them back up again. Normally, it would be 14 days [after the cast removal]. Nobody knows how your body is going to react. So we’ll just go day to day.”
