VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) - The Vancouver Canucks added another piece to their puzzle Friday, acquiring the rights to left wing Taylor Pyatt from the Buffalo Sabres for a 2007 fourth-round pick.

A restricted free agent, the 24-year-old Pyatt appeared in 41 games with the Sabres last season, collecting six goals, six assists and 33 penalty minutes. He missed 27 contests with a broken wrist and five more with a concussion but registered five assists in 14 postseason games.

Drafted eighth overall by the New York Islanders in 1999, the 6-4, 220-pound Pyatt has recorded 42 goals, 98 points and 170 penalty minutes in 308 career games with the Islanders and Sabres.
