Canucks acquire G Noronen from Sabres

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) - The Vancouver Canucks have found another goaltender to back up Alex Auld.

The Canucks on Thursday acquired netminder Mika Noronen from the Buffalo Sabres for a 2006 second-round draft pick.

The 26-year-old Noronen had played just four games with the Sabres this season, going 1-2 with a 4.26 goals-against average and an .844 save percentage.

In his five-year career with Buffalo, the native of Finland went 22-31 with six ties, a 2.64 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

Auld has played in 50 games for the Canucks this season. Dan Cloutier has seen action in 13, Maxime Ouellet four and Robert McVicar one.
