‘Canes place Cole, LaRose on injured list

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)—The Carolina Hurricanes placed forwards Erik Cole(notes) and Chad LaRose(notes) on injured reserve Friday and called up two players from the minor leagues.

The Hurricanes said Cole is expected to miss up to three weeks because of an upper- body injury, and LaRose could be out up to four weeks with a lower-body injury.

Carolina brought up forwards Patrick Dwyer and Jiri Tlusty(notes) from Albany of the AHL to fill their roster spots. The Hurricanes acquired Tlusty last week from Toronto.
