Dorsett activated by Jackets

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)—The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Derek Dorsett(notes) off injured reserve and he is expected to play in the club’s game on Wednesday night at home against Florida.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Wednesday morning.

The 22-year-old Dorsett sustained a concussion against Dallas on Nov. 19. He has one goal and three assists, 51 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 18 games this season. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan, native had four goals and an assist and 150 penalty minutes in 52 games during his rookie season in 2008-09. He was the Blue Jackets’ ninth pick and 189th overall in the 2006 draft.
