The Anaheim Ducks could have a decision from Scott Niedermayer very shortly, and Ducks Blog over on the team's official site writes that "you can book it: He's coming back," before wondering if Teemu Selanne could be far behind. All of this must be soothing news for Ducks fans who watched their veteran lollygagging cost the team a division title that would have kept them out of that deadly first-round series with Dallas.

Selanne's in the news here today for another reason, however. While scanning eBay for our Mike Sillinger jersey collection (hey, we're completists), we came across a rather rare find: A gently used but still horrific Ducks' third-jersey featuring Selanne, that even the seller claims is "easily the worst jersey ever created and one of the hardest to find." Men's Vogue guest editor Sean Avery agrees wholeheartedly.

The opening price is $250, which begs the question: How much would you pay for the worst jersey of all-time?

Honestly, it's an investment we'd consider, but it makes us sort of weepy to think guys like Selanne and Anatoli Semenov were forced to wear something that that looks like the front of a bad cereal box. (Had it been a Todd Ewen jersey, however ...) Just over three days left in the auction as of this morning. Bid with confidence!

Sean Avery isn't the only one who agrees. The logo was voted worst NHL logo ever by the voters (http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/2008/03/result-mighty-ducks-vs-bruins.html) at the NHL Tournament of Logos blog.

Well, it's an odd connundrum. I wouldn't want an ugly Selanne or Kariya? Why, because they are good players, so if you own that jersey, it just shows you have no fashion sense. Now, if you get a jabroni player, then you have something. It shows you're a true fan of the team, through thick and thin.

Ha ha ha, you know, honestly, I would want it simply because of how bad it is. I mean, it's one of those rare things in hockey that you're happy you'll never see on the ice again, but still rare and unique enough that it would make a jersey collector quite happy. But hey, I just picked up an authentic Crosby Winter Classic jersey on eBay for a fraction of the price of that monstrousity, so I'll pass. If it reappears at a cheaper price... maybe... I do hate the Ducks a lot...
It's the Wings new rival really, so like the Avalanche, I just don't know if I could own their jersey, even if it is one of the more unique jerseys in history.

Wysh, you have great command of the "royal we". Unless, of course, there's a Wyshynski horde that you somehow devilishly (pun!) control, you know, sorta like Carlyle and the Ducks?

The mid-90s angry King is almost as bad (dark times for LA graphic designers). The Gordon's Fishmerman for the Isles is also an honorable mention.

What is it with California Teams and Teal colored jerseys? Do they miss the Golden Seals that much? Which brings us to the ugliest and most gay hockey jersey/uniform of all time.
The Seals - Teal with yellow and white trim...with matching socks and pants. I'm still scarred after seeing them all those years ago!

I would be really interested in how much you think I could get for my Francois Leroux jersey. It is the home black with the diagnal Pittsburgh in the front ala the NYR. You wan obscure, come get some!

Chills-I'd say a buck fiddy, and I love the Pens! This Duck jersey is so frickin' bad it isn't even funny, it's embarrassing. ALMOST as bad as the Mighty Ducks fining their announcers for referring to the team as an Expansion team rather than "First year franchise" or worse the "Assist" from Tinkerbell on the TV set changing the score when the Ducks scored. Pathetic proof Disney has no business other than maintaining the Matterhorn!

If I wasn't short on money, I'd grab it quick. I remember being 8 and thinking those jerseys were awesome. Not that I still think so, quite to the contrary really, but it'd be a nice piece of my childhood as a Ducks fan that I could carry into the future. And I do miss Anatoli...

I agree with a previous post, that the old Vancouver "V" style jerseys were the worst of all time. The Duck's current uniforms are pretty ugly too.

I have a signed Stevie Y Jersey...If that jersey is starting at $350, I could give atleast 5 billion for mine. But I will keep it because it really looks great in its glass case in my basement bar...On a side note I was at game 5 against Dallas this year and I saw a guy wearing a signed Lidstrom Jersey...I poured a beer all over it...Just kidding, but why would you wear a jersey that is going to be worth S H I T tons to a hockey game?

Sometimes people's enjoyment of a signed jersey is worth more than the money they could get from it. Maybe they already have plenty of money

Yeah that Vancouver "V" jersey was pretty hideous, but what about the recently re-introduced "Clam shell C" jersey? Ghastly. Haven't seen any commentary on those hideous trumpet covered 3rd jerseys the St. Louis Blues sported about 10 years back....

I agree that the Vancouver flying "V" was much more hideous. Of course, by the title of this blog I though you were talking about the latest Sharks jerseys... and I'm a Sharks fan!
