Fleury's been struggling lately for the Pens, but had an impressive bounce-back game in Pittsburgh's 3-1 win at the Calgary Flames. He had 37 saves on the night and 16 in the third period alone, robbing a few Calgary players along the way. Bill Guerin(notes) had the winning goal on the power play, which is news in itself for Pittsburgh, and Sidney Crosby(notes) scored his 30th of the season and at least one marriage proposal.
The Minnesota winger scored the eventual game-winner and then chased Roberto Luongo(notes) (14 saves) with his second of the game in the Wild's 5-2 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks. Miettinen scored from the slot on the power play and later from the top of the circle for his 11th of the season.
Yes, he gave up three goals on the night to the Boston Bruins. But Hiller was fantastic when he needed to be, especially in the third period on a couple of key stops after Steve Eminger's(notes) first of the season gave the Ducks a 4-3 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Hiller made 27 saves on the night. Entertaining game between teams from opposite ends of the country.
Honorable mention: The Washington Capitals rallied from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Florida Panthers in a six-round shootout, 5-4, thanks to Tomas Fleischmann's(notes) clincher against Tomas Vokoun(notes) (33 saves). Alex Ovechkin's(notes) 28th goal and Nicklas Backstrom's(notes) 19th fueled the rally in the third period. Special nod to Jason Chimera(notes) for the Gordie Howe hat trick, including his 10th goal of the season. ... Stephen Weiss(notes) scored his 19th for the Panthers. ... Alex Burrows(notes) scored his 20th for the Canucks. ... Marco Sturm(notes) scored his 15th for the Bruins.
Dishonorable mention: Oh, now this just sucks -- Teemu Selanne breaks his jaw against the Bruins during the third period. ... Luongo was yanked for Andrew Raycroft(notes) in the third period. ... Michal Neuvirth(notes) was replaced by Jose Theodore(notes) for the Capitals after the rookie gave up four goals to Florida, including a couple of softies. ... Michael Frolik and Weiss were both minus-3 for the Panthers. Christian Ehrhoff(notes) was a minus-3 for Vancouver. ... Finally, the Wild/Canucks game produced three fights involving Minnesota's Shane Hnidy, Derek Boogaard and this beating by John Scott(notes) on what used to be Alexandre Bolduc(notes) of the Canucks. He's got Bambi legs!
