Having a shoot-around with a friend is a nice way to pass the time. When your friend is Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators, however, the stakes get a bit raised. Here is country music star and Predators fan Dierks Bentley watching Weber fire a puck into the goal — with a friendly bounce — from Section 317 at Bridgestone Arena:
No discernible CGI? Your move, Mr. Toews.
Well, hopefully for Bentley this wasn't a game of H.O.R.S.E. He'd never even get a sniff of that Big Mac.
(To that end: The Predators tell us that this Weber/Bentley showdown is part of a Jordan vs. Bird McDonald's commercial spoof that will air in the arena and potentially on television.)
So, to summarize what Shea Weber can do with his shot:
• Sent the puck through the German net in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
• Forced Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins to fire a mutant-like 105.9 mph shot in the 2011 NHL All-Star Skills Competition in order to retain his hardest shooter crown.
• With friendly fire, has put more Predators out of action than Chris Hanson of "Dateline NBC."
• Once put a puck off the hull of the orbiting Space Shuttle Atlantis, but didn't tell anyone about it because he was aiming for the Hubble. (Unconfirmed.)
Now, here's the question: Ryan Getzlaf from the All-Star skit or Shea Weber?
