Say, are you fond of devastating, perfectly executed skates-over-head hip checks? Because Worcester Sharks defenseman Sean Sullivan(notes) did something that might interest you last Friday night in an AHL game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers:
That's 2004 New York Islanders draft pick Jason Pitton(notes) taking the fall after that glorious hit, in what was a 3-2 win for the Sharks. Sullivan was a Phoenix Coyotes pick in 2003 out of Boston University, who inked a 1-year deal with the San Jose Sharks organization this summer. Check out this Patriot Ledger article for more on his professional journey.
Is a well-placed hip check the stuff of hockey poetry or what? Footage courtesy of Charter TV3 in Worcester, and a stick-tap to the Sharks for the clip.
