The Leafs section of Fan Dome posted this line brawl video between the International Hockey League's Muskegon Lumberjacks and Fort Wayne Komets from Oct. 31, and it's pretty much the expected chaos until the 55-second mark. That's when a linesman makes the mistake of trying to get between Komets forward Brad MacMillan and the target of his fists.
From the News-Sentinel, it appears the IHL frowns upon their officials getting tossed like rag dolls by goons (in which case Colton Orr(notes) is lucky to be a marginal NHL player):
International Hockey League Vice President of Hockey Operations Brad Jones suspended MacMillan 15 games on Monday for his part in Saturday's altercation against Muskegon. MacMillan left the penalty box and pushed a linesman out of the way to fight Lumberjacks' Jason Lawmaster.
Muskegon's Robin Big Snake was suspended for 12 games and MacMillan, Big Snake and Lawmaster all received undisclosed fines. During their suspensions, the players continue to count against a team's salary cap and 20-man active roster. They continue to receive their salaries.
"It's not a surprise," MacMillan said. "I knew I was getting suspended, but I'm a little disappointed by the fact that Lawmaster gets no suspension out of this. I wouldn't have changed anything I did besides not touching the official."
As mentioned, the Komets are upset that Lumberjacks player Lawmaster wasn't suspended for his actions in the fight. During that brawl, the Komets' Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock also fought Muskegon's John DiPace as well.
Robin Big Snake. Jason Lawmaster. Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock. Sorry, but when did the IHL become the character list from a cheesy 1980s sci-fi fantasy film?

Not many of those guys understand the basic etiquette of fighting- no respect for each other. You don't keep wailing on a guy when he's lying down on the ice. And I totally expected the one dude who slightly pushed back against the linesman (not the full throwdown, the other one before it) to give a little kick to emulate that pansy Grabovski.

that's not even to mention the fighting is totally boring now anyway. do they realize you can see any amount of violence they want on the internet? torture, knife fights, beheadings, executions, stabbings, hangings, dog fights, rape, people being burned alive, self immolation, etc. i give nothing but a huge yawn when i see this boring crap. almost no spike in brain activity at all. i actually get bored because i hate waiting for the clean up....it's similar to the glass breaking. again, these are monkeys cheering for kid violence.

"Mongoloid", "retards", please, go back to doing your nails, sending text messages, putting on some make-up, doodling with your hair, maybe watch some figure skating. You are a waste of skin; if you do not like the sport, don't watch it or comment on it.

Your English and spelling is atrocious. I expect that from most pre-teens who have the I.Q. of a grapefruit. I have been watching and playing hockey for more years than you have been on the Earth. I have never played a fantasy sports game; that said, I have posted many times when the Red Wings are in the news. Did you star in that movie,"Clueless"? Just wondering, since your mindless drivel has no real meaning to hockey fans. Go make your boyfriend some dinner like a good little girl and leave hockey blogs to hockey fans........

As for the actual incident in question, I'm a little surprised it was only 15 games, to tell you the truth. I'd expect 15 games to a guy if he only left the penalty box to get into a fight; when he leaves the penalty box and then shoves the linesman over, whether or not it was relatively incidental, could very well be worth 25-30 games. In my opinion.

heres what shoulda been said: Listen lady, no one cares bout your pussified hockey preference, no one cares about how long you've been watchin, hockey involves fighting, there aren't any children in the IHL and the players will make up THEIR OWN MINDS whether they're gonna fight or not. do you really believe that they think to themselves "this one's for my Dad!" and punch the guy.
leave your stupid comments in your head.

And Stacey, when there is a topic of discussion, it is important to stay within the context. Not go off on a rant on something that is of very little relevance. What the F do kids have to do in the article, the clip, or the discussion? F All. Now shut up, Adults are talking.
