Puck Daddy - NHL

If you could think of the absolute worst time for a fan to get singled out by an usher and then led out of the arena by a police officer, what do you imagine?

If you guessed, "While your favorite team is celebrating a Stanley Cup championship on the ice," bingo bango.

From The Pensblog comes this video captured after Game 6 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hockey Fan 101: If you're wearing the wrong colors and an usher who just saw his team eliminated from the Stanley Cup finals asks you to stop taking pictures near the glass, better damn well stop ... or else say hello to Mr. Police Officer, who no doubt relished this small victory for Pittsburgh over Detroit.

In case you couldn't hear the audio, that would be disgruntled Red Wings fan saying, "Dude, I paid $1,300 for my ticket!" Doesn't leave much left for bail, does it?

Seriously? I mean common, he was just taking pictures of his team with the cup. Not like he was hurting anyone or causing trouble. Bad form on Pens security.

Hey Greg, is this your small consolation prize for your team (Pens) losing in the cup finals.
Your blog poses as one about hockey, but you have been a Pens slappy through the entire finals.
You and the rest of the Pitsburg fans could never show Detroit the respect it deserves. So I guess we should follow suit and give your crappy, one sided blog, little respect as well.
I am willing to bet Puckdaddy will not be seen on Yahoo next year...any takers?
Your team lost Greg. And your still a douche bag.
** I am calling on all wings fans to boycott your lame ars blog Greg.

I find it hard to believe that taking pictures was the reason for him being asked to leave. As a Pens fan, if that was the only reason, then that is BS and not a good reflection on our city.
Come on guys have a little class.

Judging by the big vein popping out of the guy's head when he expressed his discontent with being ejected as Officer Friendly was beginning the royal escort, I'd say something happened before this video commenced that led to the climax. Perhaps using foul language and screaming at the usher and not "just taking pictures".

    @ Ashley P --
Did you get a chance to read this?
    http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/For-Stanley-Cup-champion-Detroit-timing-is-ever?urn=nhl,86221
I mean, seriously, claiming I'm in the bag for the Penguins is really just one of the dumbest things I keep reading in these comments. I'm a Devils fan. I'm not a Penguins fan. Never have been. Did I call the Red Wings boring? I sure did, because their defense was so good it made this series tedious during stretches. Did I call Michel Therrien a whining little child because of his obstruction charges? I sure did, because he is. See, both sides get it.
Good luck with your boycott. Thanks for reading.

I'm a Wings Hater and that jerk off deserved exactly what he got, and one of our scalpers gets to buy a new hat or something $1,300.00 He is a douche bag and obviously Detroit lineage.
Yep Katers I'm Jealous that our organization can't buy a cup like yours Can. Tell me Katers what did you do with your Octopuss last night.

Don’t get up-tight people. It has come to my attention that the fan in question was on the ”terrorist watch list”. For security proposes, they didn’t want him taking pictures of the facility. I, like the rest of us thought it was a cheap pay back for the Pens losing the cup, but now that we know the rest of the story, well……………..
BTW- drinking my coffee out of my Red Wings cup this morning. All is right with the world

DB, your "can't buy a cup" argument is a couple years too late. Most of the "purchased" players are gone. You saw the kinds of players the Wings scouts are able to pull late in the draft.

I have to say... So far just reading the responses by Pens fans, I am truly impressed! They aren't posting crap like "Please... we're still better" or something stupid along those lines. I keep reading tons of congratulations. Thank you Pens fans.

#12 it seems like your team tryed to buy the cup as much as ours. Hossa? We are accually sitting a lot better than you - and the cup is in Detroit. Say goodbye to at least 1/2 of your UFA's while detroit sits pretty for the next five years! The people of detroit feed off of the rest of the country hating us - Keep up your great work! Parade tommorow - then we can lounge around all summer doin nothing while your team struggles to keep more than crosby fluerry and malkin - hossa was defently a top 2 player for you too. SOrry for your misfortunes - and good luck to your team in the comming years.

Btw - talking about buying the cup ..... how much did Therrian pay the ref's to get another 5 on 3? that charge call on "Dally" was horrible - besides that though most of the game was called pretty well. Good thing our best players know how to play defense! Zetty for president!

Being a Wings fan I am just thrilled that they won last night. The thing that I found disappointing was the booing of the Pens fans when Zetterberg got awarded the Conn-Smythe as well as when Lindstrom hoisted the cup for the first time. What a pathetic show of low class. I watched the coverage on NBC then switched over to the NHL network and watched for a while. Sorry but I don't care to listen to anymore whining by Crosby. I can't believe that the Pens organization looks to this child as a leader? he needs to take this summer to grow up.

Your side brought up the cheating? I think you should be happy, I am not trying to take anything away from you. The Wings fans who post on here are obviously not your brightest, and quite honestly, it seems that you guys are NEVER happy. I hope you enjoy your parade and get back home safely.
