PHILADELPHIA -- Jonathan Toews(notes), your 2010 Conn Smythe winner, said he decided with Patrick Sharp(notes) and Duncan Keith(notes) before Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals that Marian Hossa(notes) would be the second Chicago Blackhawks player after the captain to receive the Stanley Cup.
So after two misses with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings, and talk around the hockey world that he was some sort of postseason bad luck charm, Hossa giddily received the Chalice after the Blackhawks' stunning 4-3 win at the Philadelphia Flyers ... and didn't let go for a sizable amount of time.
Here's Hossa during the celebration, talking about everything from hexes to contracts:
As we said earlier today: Love him, hate him, feel apathetic to him ... there's something about seeing this much maligned player go from the slumped down depressive at the end of the 2008 Finals to a Stanley Cup champion.
Hell, the last three teams he's played for have made the final round. He should be coveted at this point ...
