VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The NHL turned the Commodore Ballroom on Granville Street into Club Bud on Saturday night – which isn't what you think it is, despite being in herbal Vancouver. It was a massive corporate meet-and-drink featuring sponsors, NHL personnel, players, go-go dancers, Budweiser girls wearing nothing but body paint, the dude who played Anakin Skywalker, and, best of all, actor Jon Hamm.
The man who gave the world Don Draper on "Mad Men" is a St. Louis Blues puckhead, and has the dirty old hat to prove it. So on the eve of the U.S. vs. Canada game, we asked him his thoughts on the Olympic tournament:
It's like the "Don Draper says" series in our NHL previews come to life.
Later, we spotted him eating some Jon Hamm's John Ham. Oh, of course we didn't: He sits in VIP, and we were on the ballroom floor screaming questions at Anakin about the Clone Wars. Such is Club Bud.
