Everyone knows how tough hockey players are and about their habit of losing teeth on a nightly basis. Washington Capitals forward Eric Belanger(notes) took things up a notch after he was on the receiving end of a high stick from Montreal Canadiens' defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron(notes) in the first period last night.
While on the bench, he stopped the trainer from putting some gauze on the bottom of his mouth and proceeded to pull out a loose tooth from the top:
No word yet about which pillow of Belanger's two young daughters the tooth was placed under tonight for a visit from
The Rock the Tooth Fairy.
UPDATE: The Capitals reported this morning that Belanger lost seven teeth last night. No word on what kind of apple sauce and/or oatmeal he's eating for breakfast.
