When we last left the "lacrosse goal" in hockey, Minnesota Wild prospect Mikael Granlund pulled the move out during the semifinals of the IIHF World Championships against Russia in May picking the puck up on his blade while skating behind the net and then tucking it underneath the crossbar.
Well, it happened again this week.
It wasn't Granlund abusing another goalie for a change, instead it was 22-year old David Aslin of IF Troja-Ljunberg of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan successfully performing what's also known as the "Zorro shot" as he notched a hat trick and five points in 6-3 win over Södertälje:
It's one to break it out during practice or a skills competition, but it's incredibly gutsy to see it done during actual play.
Where are all the YouTubes of guys flubbing picking up the puck behind the net and then their coaches chewing them out back on the bench?
