Daniel Carcillo's(notes) insertion into the lineup for the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 2 was to give the Flyers some added sandpaper in their quest to even the series with the Chicago Blackhawks. He also expected to up the entertainment factor in the broadcast.
As usual, Carcillo didn't disappoint as he started chirping the Blackhawks during warm-ups and continued doing so once the puck dropped for the first period. Chicago forward Tomas Kopecky(notes) was a target of Carcillo in the opening period as the two explained pleasantries on several occasions.
One of those times saw Carcillo line up Kopecky for a hit only to whiff and connect with teammate Jeff Carter(notes):
Poor execution, but solid hockey hit.
Aren't the playoffs a little more entertaining with Carcillo involved? It reminds us of the Sean Avery(notes)/pre-lobotomy days. Now if the next TV deal could somehow work in HBO for an unedited "mic'd up" session for every game ...
