It's been almost eight years since Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins beat Buffalo Sabres goaltender Martin Biron(notes) Mika Noronen directly off a faceoff for yet another memorable goal in his career.

Saturday night on Long Island, Atlanta Thrashers forward Bryan Little(notes) decided to do his best Lemieux imitation on New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro(notes):

Nice dramatic zoom-in on a puzzled DiPietro by the MSG cameraman.

Little's shorthanded goal was part of a four-goal third period for Atlanta en route to a 5-4 victory over the Islanders. New York fell to 1-16-3 in their past 20 games.

Some other recent faceoff goals include Vernon Fiddler against Detroit in last season's playoffs and Jeff Carter(notes) against Columbus from last January.
