In the third period on Tuesday night, Chicago Blackhawks forward Troy Brouwer(notes) had Lars Eller(notes) of the Montreal Canadiens lined up for a big defensive zone hit. But Eller moved, Brouwer missed and flew into the boards to cause an apparent shoulder injury. Ouch:
Seriously, Bell Centre, you can stop injuring people now with your stanchions and boards of doom …
With Patrick Sharp(notes) on the mend and Dave Bolland(notes) still dealing with post-concussion recovery, Brouwer's health after this is obviously of great concern.
The Canadiens beat the Blackhawks in OT on a power-play goal by P.K. Subban(notes), 2-1, clinching a playoff spot. Big charity point in the Western Conference race.
