Puck Daddy - NHL

The summer time for hockey players isn't all about taking time off, sitting on the couch and eating bags of Cheetos, or going to see "The Dark Knight" seven times. No, it's the time when players recharge their batteries and then begin off-season workout regimens that will get them prepared to get through another season.

Pavel Lysenkov of Sovetsky Sport writes over at Russian Hockey Digest about the training methods of some of the home country's top NHL'ers like Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, Sergei Gonchar and Alexander Radulov, who drops this little piece of information during his time with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League:

"...I remember, we were in Montreal and I saw Saku Koivu and Richard Zednik coming out of a bar with six beauties! That's the popularity."

That's just a notch above Garth Snow-esque pimpin'.

Lysenkov provides some great photos of the players working out, but clearly they are worthy of some better captions. Which we are more than happy to provide.

OV is excited to watch the ESPY's and see himself win the NHL Player of the Year award...oh right.

Radulov reaching out to sign a contract with a Czech Republic team, upping the total of teams that have him currently under contract to two.

Malkin showing off some leg and his tan lines.

Who wears short shorts?  Evgeni Malkin wears short shorts.

Gonchar looks like he's still sobbing from losing the Stanley Cup, and Malkin's holding an invisible Primanti Bros. sandwich.
