The 40-year old Selanne continued to pad his Hall of Fame credentials with two goals during Anaheim's 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Selanne surpassed the 1,300-point mark for his career and now has 620 goals, five behind Joe Sakic(notes) for 14th all-time.
Making his third career start, Khudobin earned his first career shutout with a 32-save performance during a 4-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Matt Cullen(notes) scored a shorthanded goal and assisted on John Madden's(notes) sixth, while Martin Havlat(notes) and Andrew Brunette(notes) each scored their 11th of the year.
Down 3-2 in the third period to the Nashville Predators in the second night of a home-and-home, Browuer shifted the momentum of the game by scoring twice in 40 seconds en route to a 6-3 Blackhawks win. Jonathan Toews(notes) scored his 100th career goal and Marty Turco(notes) stopped 20 shots for his second win in eight starts. As far as highlight-reel goals go, Dave Bolland's undressing of Ryan Suter ranks high on the list.
Honorable mention: Three goals from Brooks Laich(notes), John Carlson(notes) and Jason Chimera(notes) in the third powered powered the Washington Capitals past the Ottawa Senators 3-1. Michal Neuvirth(notes) made 22 saves to remaing unbeaten (3-0-0) against the Senators ... Brian Boucher(notes) made 34 saves as the Philadelphia Flyers fought off a late New York Rangers comeback for a 3-2 win. Mike Richards'(notes) shorthanded goal in the second period would be the difference as the Flyers won their fourth straight against the Rangers.
Did you know? After their loss to Minnesota, Vancouver is now 10-2-0 against the Northwest Division.
Dishonorable mention: Edmonton fell to 3-11-2 in their last 16 games ... Ottawa was miserable in the faceoff dot winning just 19 of 62 draws.
