Interesting find from Kukla tonight, as Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that the NHL is looking into whether Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh didn't send "all available camera angles to league headquarters in Toronto for Simon Gagne's(notes) apparent goal that was under review against the Penguins last Thursday."
Wonder why they wouldn't send that clip along? An NHL spokesman confirmed to Seravalli that the League's looking into whether this was an intentional "oversight," adding this context:
FSN Pittsburgh, who had the game's only video feed, allegedly sent all of the camera angles of the replay except the one that clearly showed the puck over the goal line.
Comcast SportsNet elected to not use their own video feed during the game to save money on production costs, one SportsNet employee said on Monday.
Jeez, Briere's contract just sucks up all the petty cash. We'll pass along any further news on this investing ... oh, who are we kidding? The NHL has more open cases than an episode of "Deal or No Deal" at this point.
